The magical quality of Alpaca

The magical quality of Alpaca

Alpaca fiber has a naturally soft and comforting feel that you can wear next to your skin. The unique hollow core of it's fibre gives the alpaca wool a natural insulation that keeps body heat in or lets it out according to the temperature of the surrounding environment.

The various qualities of alpaca wool is graded and named through the range of its circumference. The thinner the fibre, the better the hand feel and softness. As the winter continues make the most of the magical sensation of the Alpaca wool.

Royal Alpaca

Micron (0,001 mm): 17-19 micron

This quality was almost non-existing when alpaca wool was industrialised. The possibility of the alpaca producing such fine fibre was discovered through the study of ancient Incan alpaca artefacts hence its name “Royal Alpaca".

These well preserved Incan textiles were made from alpaca fibres of 17-19 microns not seen in any alpaca products in recent times. It has now become possible to naturally breed alpaca animals that produces such fineness through many years of research. This quality is very exclusive and we have not seen any other products made from this quality anywhere else.

Baby Alpaca

Micron (0,001 mm): 20-23 micron

The first shearing of the alpaca animal is the finest, which is the reason this quality was named “Baby Alpaca".

Pedigree alpaca's will be able to produce “Baby” quality throughout its whole life. It doesn’t necessarily mean that this quality comes only from baby alpacas as the name suggests. We use this quality for most of our garment and accessories.

Baby Alpaca

Baby alpaca is the best known high quality alpaca fibre. Alpaca wool is soft, silky and contains almost no lanolin, making it hypoallergenic. The unique hollow core gives alpaca wool natural insulating ability, retaining or releasing body heat according to the temperature of the surrounding environment.
