Winter greetings from Bristol, Osaka and Okinawa

Winter greetings from Bristol, Osaka and Okinawa!

After a busy autumn period, traveling around in the Peruvian and Bolivian Andes, winter has slowly but surely begun. We are excited to be dropping many new styles and accessories to our online shop to suit your needs in these cooling conditions.

During our recent travels to South America we were reminded of the extraordinary circumstances alpacas exist in and the magic their beautiful fibre provides. With alpaca fibre being hollow at its core, our sweaters and scarves provides perfect thermal abilities, keeping you warm outside and releasing your body’s heat when inside in a warmer “hygge” ambiance.

Stay cosy, Satoru and Kiyoshi Inoue

Alpaca Project

Our relationship with Pacomarca has resulted in a special partnership to produce the finest alpaca fibre available in the world.

Together with new ideas and projects to create further income generating opportunities for the indigenous communities, we and Pacomarca endeavour to be in the vanguard of the fine-fibre production in The Andes.

Brushed Scarf

Material: 100% alpaca (baby alpaca) Country and region: Peru Size: W 35 cm x L 180 cm (8 cm fringes)

– Baby alpaca – Micron (0,001 mm): 22-23 micron Baby alpaca is the best known high quality alpaca fibre. Alpaca wool is soft, silky and contains almost no lanolin, making it hypoallergenic. The unique hollow core gives alpaca wool natural insulating ability, retaining or releasing body heat according to the temperature of the surrounding environment.

Multi Coloured Scarf

Material: 100% alpaca (super fine alpaca) Country and region: Bolivia Size: W 55 cm x L 180 cm (5 cm fringes)

– Super fine alpaca – Micron (0,001 mm): 25.5-26.5 micron The yarn used for this product is hard wearing Bolivian Alpaca wool, the more it is used the softer it gets.

Our Bolivian multi coloured scarf is our first ever alpaca product and the design dates back nearly 20 years. This woven style is produced using 28 colours on a hand loom. The natural colour scheme of the Andes is muted and monotonous, hence traditional Andean colours are bright and vibrant. The check design is made up from these traditional colour combinations, representing the cultural heritage of the Andean people.
