Julien Colombier is a French artist based in Paris. He is known for his unique world of painting, using pastels, chalk and acrylics on black backgrounds. His densely compressed paintings, created by the repetitive fabrication of geometric motifs and plants, have a figurative yet graphically abstract quality. For this series Julien has chosen two of his favourite art pieces which were part of his most recent 2023 "Hopepunk" show in Japan. They feature foliage and floral paintings and textured grid patterns in his colourful signature style.
