#DESCRIPTION
Aguayo blankets are traditionally used in the Andean region, mainly by women, for carrying everyday loads. Anything from groceries, firewood, goods to sell at the market and also small children are carried on the women’s backs leaving their hands free for other practical needs.

The Andean highlands are an extremely harsh environment with little vegetation, dominated by grey and brown colour tones. In this colourless landscape, the vivid Aguayo stands out.
In essence, the colourful Aguayo is not just a practical fabric but an emotional expression of Andean identity, spirituality, and creativity.

Today, most Aguayo blankets are made from acrylic fabrics to ensure they are durable and fit for its multiple use. For this collaboration, The Inoue Brothers… have designs their own vibrant Aguayo pattern based on their 20 years of travelling in the Andean region.

This Aguayo Blanket was designed as an accessory to The Inoue Brothers x Porter Backpack and can be secured to the bottom using purposefully added straps.
